First for those of you who are regular readers you recall I went away to take a certification course and wrote a grueling 4 hour exam. Well not only did I pass but I received a mark of about 90% so needless to say I'm thrilled.
Even better news than that was that last week I received a promotion. I had wanted to move into a new role for several months now so I put together a bit of a case and cautiously presented it to my boss last week and he accepted it. I am thrilled to say the least.
Unfortunately the impact on all of this is that I am going to be very busy learning the ropes of my new job for the next little while so I'm going to be rather scarce around here for at least the next month or so.
Honestly I feel terrible about it as you have all supported me with this blog and your loyal following is something that has given me great joy this last year.
I hope to come back in the fall and will throw a nice big contest to reward all of you who have remained patient with me.
Have a great summer !
Oh and if I do get some nice shots I will participate in Wordless Wednesday. Stay tuned.

Happy Canada Day !
Stumbled across a very touching article on some reflections of Canadians living in the US. Just thought I'd share.

Best or just average ?
Today's debate focuses on mediocre parents.
I read an interesting article recently. It was written by a Dad and he talked about a tie his daughter had painted for him with #1 Dad on it. His thought was that he was definately not #1 Dad material but perhaps 60th percentile material. Of course then came the interesting comment about how come there aren't products marketed towards average Dads instead of only #1 Dads.
Today's questions are how in general do you think you rate as a parent ? Would you refer to yourself as #1 or perhaps only 60th percentile as the author has described ? If you don't feel like a #1 parent how does society make you feel by only pushing things like #1 Dad products ? Finally do you think this Dad is looking at things all wrong and perhaps his daughter does consider him #1 Dad and perhaps all children do and that's why the goods are marketed the way they are ?
I'd love to hear your comments.

Happy Father's Day
To all of you Dad's out there Happy Father's Day !
My daughter made her Daddy a picture frame with a picture from her little theatre show. She was a flower and her costume was adorable. She loves to paint so she had a blast making it.
Daddy's favorite part was a handwritten letter from the heart. I had to help her write some of the words but they were all her words and he was deeply touched.
Today we go to my daughter's ballet recital. Daddy is very excited to see her dance although she made a special request that he wear a tie that he's not all that excited about.

It's me day
So I'm sort of back. I say sort of because I have company for the next couple of days still so I only get a few minutes here and there to get on and believe it or not researching and composing the debate articles does take a fair bit of time.
If you recall I went away to take a course and certification exam. Just wanted to let you know how it went. The course was very interesting but it was a grueling 2.5 days with classes from 8:00 in the morning until 5:00 at night.
The exam was 4 hours and it honestly was the stuff of legends. It was obvious written by professional test preparers and honestly was probably the most difficult exam I ever took. I say this because it was multiple choice and most of the questions had more than one answer that was correct you just had to choose which one was more correct. It really made you wish you could debate the answers because I could honestly explain why both answers were correct in most cases.
Anyways I'm not sure if I passed so best I can do is keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. If I fail unfortunately I'll have to fork over more money for another expensive plane ticket and another $400 for the exam fee. I find out my results mid-July. Please wish me luck.
Oh and of course if I fail there will be the very awkward conversation I'll have to have with my employer so I'm truly hoping I don't have to have that experience.
Have a great day !

Art or pornography ?
Today's debate is on the issue of explicit advertising.
I received this article in my inbox this morning and just couldn't resist passing it on. The add is from Calvin Klein and it eludes to one woman and three men having sex. The article has generated a lot of controvery and I guess free advertising for Calvin Klein. The advertisement is being run on a publicly viewed billboard in New York City.
Today's question is very simple do you think this add went to far for something that is shown in public ? Do you think the article would be Ok for let's say a magazine like Vogue or do you think it's just too inappropriate period ? Finally do you think it's more art or pornography ?
I'd love to hear your comments.
